A Preceding Narrative

The quirks I encounter in my day job are some times lacking in information even with intense Google-fu. Sometimes I get lucky and find solutions easily, other times, I end up scraping bits and pieces of the puzzle from all over to find out what's really happening.

Hi, I'm a software engineer and I focus mainly on Java, the web and enterprise portals. My (current) employer has me on a team to support the system for a project, but the words here are mine and do not represent the company. Some issues are like landmines from WWII era that spring up after lying dormant for a long time, others get introduced due to changes in technology. Either way, the team deals with it and makes sure the client users get their job done without being hindered by the system, as much as possible.

The more perplexing anecdotes are often glossed over as soon as they're overcome, and some of the finds are discarded easily. Code snippets can be generically applicable anywhere, thus if you maximised your Google-fu and find a gem with me, then more power to you.
